Gehenna Preview 4 [Jun. 30th, 2004|04:01 pm]
The Order of Volos
[Current Mood |menacing]

Jason Silverhawk examined the boxes closely, making sure these were the crates from the Destiny Corp. warehouse. He glanced over to the cheetah at his side, “Definitely the right ones.” The huge beast gave a low growl in response. Silverhawk continued to walk around among the crates checking to make sure each one was indeed accounted for. The cheetah nudged Jason’s hand and looked over to a crate: it was opened. A grim smile crossed Jason’s lips, “Great.”
The smell of phosphorous filled the air and super heated bullets left streaks of white across the room. Several of the rounds hit Jason squarely, the phosphorous burned like hell, but he just stared harshly at the shooter. Jason’s eyes flashed red and he ordered the shooter. “Drop the gun.”
The first shooter dropped his gun as if compelled by some supernatural power, but the second shooter let fly an entire magazine of ammunition. Once the searing heat subsided, and the veil of white smoke was lifted the shooter expected to see nothing more than a pile of ash where the man with the great silver hawk on his coat had stood, instead he saw the barrel of a .50 caliber Dessert Eagle pointed squarely at his face.

The huge cheetah chased down a very fast vampire dressed in a cheap gray suit and reeking of day old blood, a stench only added to by the covering of discount dollar store blue bottle cologne, and knocked the foul smelling thing to the floor. One slap from the great beast’s paw would have killed any mortal, and most vampires, but this one seemed to take the blow without a flinch. This was no normal Sabbat pack, or anarch-troop.
The smelly vampire threw the 400-pound cheetah like it was tennis ball, and stood to its feet, two more vampires appeared from the shadows; they were so ugly that the cheetah wished they had stayed hidden. “Curiosity killed the…” the cheetah began to change forms until it was standing before the three vampire as a huge man dressed in a $2,000 suit. “Cat,” the smelly vampire finished.
“Jim‘s the name,” the huge vampire said making eye contact with the three. The huge vampire adjusted the cheetah head cufflinks at the end of his sleeves, and his fingers stretched into ten-inch talons.

The shot echoed around the warehouse walls, and the second shooter fell into a pile of ash. Jason Silverhawk smiled a satisfied smile and walked casually to the first shooter, who still standing in the same spot looking rather confused.
“So,” Jason started, “tell me why you would take weapons from Destiny Corporation.” The first shooter tried to resist, he tried not to talk, “tell me,” Jason said flatly, and the shooter began to speak, no matter how much he tried not to.

Jim leapt over the smelly vampire, digging his claws into the face of the uglier of the vampires, before he even pulled his claws out of the thing’s face if fell into ash. As Jim landed he spun around taking off the other ugly vampire’s head, the fell into a neat pile of ash, and the body soon dissipated likewise.

Jason had learned all he needed to know from the shooter, he placed the Desert Eagle against the vampire’s head and pulled the trigger. The vampire’s body fell, but barely decomposed. Jason wasn’t at all shocked – he could tell a new embrace when he saw one.

Jim was turning, spinning, raking, and slashing at the smelly vampire, but all to no effect. Whoever this thing was, he was good. One punch set Jim sailing through the air, and smashing a dent into the warehouse wall. Jim stood to his feet, an indomitable sneer crossed his lips. “You don’t know who you’re fuckin’ with.”

Jim pounced, like the predator he was, at the vampire his claws tore a hole in the thing’s side, Jim brought his left hand in for a rake, which tore a hole in the thing’s stomach. Finally he crossed his claws like scissors at the thing’s neck. “Jason, I think you should be asking the questions.”
Jason Silverhawk walked slowly up next to the vulnerable vampire “Tell me what you are doing here.” The wretched thing squirmed a bit, and Jason realized that the creature was easily resisting, Jason pulled a clip from his coat pocket, he shoved it in the vampire’s face. “Smell that? It’s phosphorous, now tell me what I want to know.” Jason loaded his gun with the clip.
“No need to hide the truth from you!” spat the other vampire “My master has a whole army of vampires like me, he has made them just like he made me, and he will unleash them upon your city to stop you from destroying the Antediluvians. My master wishes and waits for the end, and so do we, his children.”
Jason Silverhawk sneered, “Gehenna cultists, with an army of vampires as powerful as elders, this should be interesting.” Jason fired round and round of phosphorous ammunition into the vampire until it finally died, crumbling into ash. Jim just smiled, “I’m always up for a fight.”

- Watch out players something wicked this way comes.

The Order of Volos

worldofdarkness.com now has the new character sheet up.

It seems, if you read the current preview about mortals, that World of Darkness itself will function as the primary setting book for all games, and that it is intended to work as a stand alone game similar to Call of Cthulu. I'm not entirely sure if that's true, but it seems like it given the examples they use.

Nothing much, but big stuff at the same time [Jun. 14th, 2004|02:02 am]
The Order of Volos

I just thought I'd let everyone know that, as of now, I am planning on the Gehenna game being my last for a while, possibly permanently. There are a multitude 9of reasons for this. Mainly it is because I have been suffering from gaming burnout- I was not bullshitting about that, as my killing of Adam was hasty and stupid and I do regret it. I have also noticed that I just can't seem to get a feel for my characters anymore- I seem to suck at playing them. I think it would be best if after Gehenna, I took a long, extended break from gaming. I'm totally psyched about the Gehenna game- can't wait to play Julian one last time. After that, count me out unless I say in. I just can't do it anymore.

Gehenna Preview 3 [Jun. 9th, 2004|03:21 pm]
The Order of Volos
[Current Mood |Deadly]

Julian was pressed onto his heels; Dante’s assault was a torrent of blades: tight arched slices, and quick jabs. Julian had to find an opening soon, or the match would be set, Dante the victor. Julian defended against another attack routine, one that gave him an opening. Julian leaped into a forward dive, and then a quick roll. He sprung to his feet across the courtyard. Julian held his swords in an offensive stance. Dante spun around, just in time to see Julian disappear from view.
“Shifty vampire…” Dante activated his powers of awareness, but Julian had already moved away. Dante cursed under his breath and stood with his back close to the wall, he wouldn’t lose a match to Julian. Suddenly Dante’s power of heightened awareness alerted him to the sound of leaves falling though the air. Dante quickly shut off his heightened awareness and checked the tree tops, he saw Julian land gracefully, swords drawn and extended his way.

Julian charged, and Dante braced for the assault. Julian leaped over Dante at the last second, his swords jabbing downward. Dante rolled forward, and popped up on his feet, Julian moved in on the side launching an attack routine that Dante had particular trouble dealing with. Dante called upon the powers of vampiric speed, and Julian did so, matching Dante’s increase in speed. The two faced off with routines that should have taken minutes in a matter of seconds. They broke both jumping back a few feet.

They stared at each other for a moment, each testing the other’s resolve. “It’s not a staring match, Dante.” The two charged, furiously attacking, each increasing their speed to the maximum, each running the most advanced and aggressive attack routines they knew. Finally two crashes sounded, standing out among the other hundreds, a crescendo. Dante stood disarmed, Julian held his swords at Dante’s neck.
“Good work Julian, your first win against me.” Julian’s thoughts went rushing backwards in time, to that fateful day that he had fought off Dante and the twins, Spite and Malice, but suddenly he realized: it wasn’t really Dante he was fighting that day, it was the twisted perversion Ravos had made from his friend.
Julian looked to the red star shinning brightly, he felt the storm clouds gathering. Gehenna was coming. Julian dropped his swords, “Do you think it will be enough?” Dante didn’t answer.

The Order of Volos
[Current Mood |Sinister]

"There will be a time when each of us will have to make the decision to fight, or to let them have it all."

"He is a force like none you have faced before -- cunning, skilled, and brutal. If we allow him to gain the amount of power he seeks, if we allow him to continue, we will never win this battle."

"He is the one most responsible for all of this. He is the greatest threat our kind, and humanity, have ever faced. None of us: not I, not Destiny, not even Volos, can hope to face him alone."

"He has faced final death, and returned. His abilities mirror that of Her, and may have even surpassed them. His followers are fanatically devoted and this devotion makes them extremely dangerous."

"He is a beast driven by hatred, rage, and malice. Evil personified. He has come from Hell and back to face us again.”
