The Order of Volos
Jason Silverhawk examined the boxes closely, making sure these were the crates from the Destiny Corp. warehouse. He glanced over to the cheetah at his side, “Definitely the right ones.” The huge beast gave a low growl in response. Silverhawk continued to walk around among the crates checking to make sure each one was indeed accounted for. The cheetah nudged Jason’s hand and looked over to a crate: it was opened. A grim smile crossed Jason’s lips, “Great.”
The smell of phosphorous filled the air and super heated bullets left streaks of white across the room. Several of the rounds hit Jason squarely, the phosphorous burned like hell, but he just stared harshly at the shooter. Jason’s eyes flashed red and he ordered the shooter. “Drop the gun.”
The first shooter dropped his gun as if compelled by some supernatural power, but the second shooter let fly an entire magazine of ammunition. Once the searing heat subsided, and the veil of white smoke was lifted the shooter expected to see nothing more than a pile of ash where the man with the great silver hawk on his coat had stood, instead he saw the barrel of a .50 caliber Dessert Eagle pointed squarely at his face.
The huge cheetah chased down a very fast vampire dressed in a cheap gray suit and reeking of day old blood, a stench only added to by the covering of discount dollar store blue bottle cologne, and knocked the foul smelling thing to the floor. One slap from the great beast’s paw would have killed any mortal, and most vampires, but this one seemed to take the blow without a flinch. This was no normal Sabbat pack, or anarch-troop.
The smelly vampire threw the 400-pound cheetah like it was tennis ball, and stood to its feet, two more vampires appeared from the shadows; they were so ugly that the cheetah wished they had stayed hidden. “Curiosity killed the…” the cheetah began to change forms until it was standing before the three vampire as a huge man dressed in a $2,000 suit. “Cat,” the smelly vampire finished.
“Jim‘s the name,” the huge vampire said making eye contact with the three. The huge vampire adjusted the cheetah head cufflinks at the end of his sleeves, and his fingers stretched into ten-inch talons.
The shot echoed around the warehouse walls, and the second shooter fell into a pile of ash. Jason Silverhawk smiled a satisfied smile and walked casually to the first shooter, who still standing in the same spot looking rather confused.
“So,” Jason started, “tell me why you would take weapons from Destiny Corporation.” The first shooter tried to resist, he tried not to talk, “tell me,” Jason said flatly, and the shooter began to speak, no matter how much he tried not to.
Jim leapt over the smelly vampire, digging his claws into the face of the uglier of the vampires, before he even pulled his claws out of the thing’s face if fell into ash. As Jim landed he spun around taking off the other ugly vampire’s head, the fell into a neat pile of ash, and the body soon dissipated likewise.
Jason had learned all he needed to know from the shooter, he placed the Desert Eagle against the vampire’s head and pulled the trigger. The vampire’s body fell, but barely decomposed. Jason wasn’t at all shocked – he could tell a new embrace when he saw one.
Jim was turning, spinning, raking, and slashing at the smelly vampire, but all to no effect. Whoever this thing was, he was good. One punch set Jim sailing through the air, and smashing a dent into the warehouse wall. Jim stood to his feet, an indomitable sneer crossed his lips. “You don’t know who you’re fuckin’ with.”
Jim pounced, like the predator he was, at the vampire his claws tore a hole in the thing’s side, Jim brought his left hand in for a rake, which tore a hole in the thing’s stomach. Finally he crossed his claws like scissors at the thing’s neck. “Jason, I think you should be asking the questions.”
Jason Silverhawk walked slowly up next to the vulnerable vampire “Tell me what you are doing here.” The wretched thing squirmed a bit, and Jason realized that the creature was easily resisting, Jason pulled a clip from his coat pocket, he shoved it in the vampire’s face. “Smell that? It’s phosphorous, now tell me what I want to know.” Jason loaded his gun with the clip.
“No need to hide the truth from you!” spat the other vampire “My master has a whole army of vampires like me, he has made them just like he made me, and he will unleash them upon your city to stop you from destroying the Antediluvians. My master wishes and waits for the end, and so do we, his children.”
Jason Silverhawk sneered, “Gehenna cultists, with an army of vampires as powerful as elders, this should be interesting.” Jason fired round and round of phosphorous ammunition into the vampire until it finally died, crumbling into ash. Jim just smiled, “I’m always up for a fight.”
