Two NPCs [Oct. 25th, 2005|12:12 pm]

NPC:

Kathleen Barrows
Invictus - Clan Daeva

Kathleen Barrows was embraced by the prestigious Berlin Kindred Armin Gotthold who is both a Regent and the Priscus of clan Daeva in Berlin. She is not from Berlin, and doesn't really mention why she was there to have been embraced, what she will gladly share is the fact that she left to become a "self-made" woman. In that goal she has succeeded. Kathleen is the youngest Primogen on the council, she is well connected to the city's Ancilla community and lately she seems to have developed a friendship with the Kogaion of the Ordo Dracul.

NPC:

Avery Lieth
Carthian Movement - Clan: Mekhet

Many of the city's Kindred believe Avery Lieth is the token Primogen to placate the Carthian Movement. Many also believe Avery Lieth some how forced the Primogen Council into accepting him. The truth of the matter isn't known, and such things are best left unknown. What matters to the Carthians is that someone is on the Council voting in their favor. Recently however many of the young firebrand Carthians have claimed that Lieth is little more than a lapdog to the Primogen Council. Avery Lieth recently called for a vote and once again won the position of Prefect -- silencing the opposition, for now.

NPC:

Kogaion Grigoriy Vilen
Ordo Dracul - Clan Ventrue

Grigoriy Vilen looks like a vampire. His skin his pale and lifeless, his hair is long and dark, his eyes are cold blue, and his features have an Eastern European sharpness. Mystery surrounds the Kogaion, none in the city know his agenda, his feeding habits, or his origins. Kindred often fear the unknown, as such Kindred naturally fear the Kogaion. Grigoriy doesn't seek position on the Primogen Council, he doesn't seek the Princedom, he doesn't seek to be clan Priscus, as far as anyone knows the Kogaion serves only the Ordo Dracul, and he even speaks their will through the proxy voice of other Dragons. The strange thing is: for all of his private and mysterious ways he seems to have formed something akin to a friendship with the up-and-coming Primogen Kathleen Barrows.

Detroit Soundtrack, update 1 [Oct. 13th, 2005|12:32 pm]
The Order of Volos

The soundtrack is starting to come together, and its certainly the most eclectic collection we've put together for a game thus far. Remember that your picks need to be songs released no later than 1994, but cover songs from later years are acceptable if the original was released pre 1995. I still need an action theme from Gillis, and confirmation of themes from Jordan & Diana.

Ermon (Gillis)
Sisters of Mercy "Lucretia (My Reflection)"

Zachary Strauss (Jordan)
The Velvet Underground "Venus In Furs"
Bobby Darin "Mack the Knife"

Cuddles (Neal)
Johnny Cash "Rusty Cage"
Marilyn Manson "Sweet Dreams"

Kaienda (Diana)
30 Seconds to Mars "Hunter"
Survivor "Eye of the Tiger"

Virgil (Kasey)
Joy Division "Shadowplay"
Metallica "Fade to Black"

Templar Chance Prophet
Ten Thousand Homo DJs "Supernaut"

Templar Mykal Blujaye
Nirvana "Negative Creep"

(no subject) [Oct. 11th, 2005|05:39 pm]

NPC:

William Duke
Invictus – Clan Deava

William Duke is a modern paragon of the Invictus. Like an old world noble William Duke uses his resources, status, and influence to provide for certain Kindred. In return he demands service. These services range from security, to investigations, to influence over mortal society. Like an old world noble William Duke is also obsessed with oaths, titles, lineage, and formality. Primogen Duke uses his expansive domain as a resource, and in doing so is able to increase his holdings, and gain influence among young Kindred in need of a place to feed, or to rest during the day. William Duke's domain has reached such a large expanse that he has begun to subinfeudate the domain, granting outstanding Kindred regency within his domain, making his domain almost entirely a city of its own. Many of the city's Kindred dwell and feed within Primogen Duke's domain and pay him some service for the privilege.

NPC:

Eva Black
Lancea Sanctum – Clan Ventrue

Eva Black is unabashedly Ventrue, holding her clan in high regard. In her mind Kindred society is the Sanctified first, the Ventrue second, and every other organization is simply beneath those, undeserving of enumeration. If Bishop Kyger is the voice of the Sanctified and their religion: Eva Black is the voice of the Sanctified and their politics. Ms. Black is a political powerhouse, wielding money as though it were sword, she gives to every conservative political cause and supports the mortal church. Her political maneuvering rivals that of even the Invictus. Combining her beauty, power, and boldness Eva Black has become one of the most influential Kindred in the city.

NPC:

Father Ullerick Kyger
Lancea Sanctum - Clan Unknown

Father Kyger is one of the most feared Kindred in the city. As the city's Bishop he speaks for the frightening and relentless Lancea Sanctum, in addition his beast is overpowering to all but the oldest Kindred in the city, rather this is age or experience none are sure. Rumors are abundant of Kyger's cruelty to those with whom he find displeasure, and when young Kindred ask their sires, or other older kindred, about these rumors they are simply given a frightened look and told to be silent about such things. Usually seen in Father Kyger's company is the beautiful and powerful Eva Black.

Now that I feel like the New World of Darkness chronicle is in full swing I feel that it is time to give it a name. We will call the chronicle "This Elegy"

I have a BIG scene planned for you Invictus players this week, and a major step in the plot as well. Some of the characters might even battle the beast, and find themselves feeling less than human when it is all said and done, and there is that mortal sister too... (sinister grin)

I've also started selecting music for the game, like AFI's Sing the Sorrow was used for much of the Sabbat chronicle this game will use VNV Nation's Future Perfect. The next game is 12-30-04 Neal and Jessica's starting at 5:00 PM.

I just wanted to say that I loved the game last night. The interviews were awsome. One thing id like to see in the futer is when the shit hits the fan switching scenes from group to group on the interviewees. Much like in return of the king, how during the climax of the film it switches from group to group showing there intense scenes. Now that there is plenty of npc's I'd like to see some narative on there expierences as well. I don't know about everyone else but I really like some of the NPCs now. Well gotta go to work BALLS!!!!

Jess & Neal have agreed to host this week's game at their new apartment. Anyone who already knows where it is should head over there around 4:00 or 4:30 so that we can begin on time. Anyone who doesn't should get ahold of them for directions, or get ahold of me for other plans.

And, courtesy of bash.org, something that reminded me of an inside joke from old gaming sessions (::eyes Jeremy::):

[Current Mood |tenebrous]

Zoe knew it wouldn’t be easy to prove her loyalty to the rest of them, David knew she was loyal, and Volos knew it, but the rest, even ancient Olcelece were some what skeptical.

The shadows had told Zoe where to find her prey, where to find the Assamites sent to slay the former Camarilla Prince, her former enemy now turned ally, Alexander Severak. The shadows whispered and Zoe followed them, they lead her through the twisting city, she used them to glide from building to building, rooftop to rooftop, effortlessly. Zoe leapt from the roof of an old factory, recently restored to working order by Destiny Corp. Zoe grabbed a shadowy tendril and pulled herself along, with the inconceivable strength of her clan she pushed herself 50 feet into the air, and catching another of her shadows she raised her self up to the next roof top.

Zoe scanned her surrounds, listening close to the call of shadows. She cloaked herself in shadow, wrapped it tight around her body, like a warm blanket. As does a coat on a stormy night, the shadows both comforted and protected her.

She leaped from the building's roof, her fall was slowed by the shadows and she lightly touched the ground. She slipped through the crack in the old busted windows of the building and slid up the walls, she stared down at the floor and listened closely for voices, she watched for any signs of activity, she tried to pick out the smell of blood.

There Zoe waited for what seemed like an eternity, until finally three creatures, most assuredly the ones she was looking for entered through the rear door. They spoke about their plans to ambush Severak at sunset, before he had risen. They spoke of his haven, mentioned the lay out, the security, even the access codes to Severak’s personal living space. Finally the vampire were within striking distance of Zoe’s trap, for while she had waited she had called to a multitude of shadows, and like one the blacker-than-onyx tendrils rose from their hiding place, like vipers from a pit the shadows struck. Tearing through empty crates, and shattering cement pillars like glass the tendrils tore through the room. One of the Assamites was torn to shreds immediately, his death was a gruesome sight to behold, his limbs where set flying, and his torso was torn asunder. Finally the hundreds of tiny pieces settled into ash.

The female, clearly the leader of this group, was slashing at the obsidian serpents, while the remaining male darted from one broken and mangled pillar to another. The two seemed to fight so well together, he was leading the shadowy arms to the female so that she could cut them into ribbons. Zoe settled herself onto the steel beams of the ceiling, and reformed her body, the shadows called to her, but she knew a some what more physical form was needed. Rather than beckoning shadow and becoming one with it, she transformed herself into a form that existed somewhere between the physical realm and the darkness of the abyss.

She fell silently behind the male, and wrapped an inky, black, arm around his arms, she yanked him off of the ground and impaled him on a black tendril, hooked, and barbed. She raked his body along the barbed cord of gloom until nothing remained but bits of flesh which soon dissipated to ash.

The female vampire let out a howl and rushed Zoe, who easily side stepped the rage driven blow, the female spun and ducked as Zoe lashed out with a murky whip of darkness. The Assamite charged her blades nearly caught Zoe, but a shadowy tentacle absorbed the blow, Zoe harnessed the power of her rage and her control of the abyss and she sent a multitude of darkened tentacles to lash out at the female Assamite, who cut the cords into bits, but it gave Zoe the distraction she needed as she swept a barbed and spiked tendril across the Assamite’s exposed back. The Assamite was on the ground its back gashed wide open. Zoe wrapped the barbed cord around the wretched thing’s neck. With a twist the head was severed and the creature fell to ash. Zoe knew she had proven her loyalty.
